There are plenty of fad diets that can help you lose (water!) weight rather quickly. But, what’s the use of dieting if it amplifies your risk of disease!?
The dietary plan outlined in his book Eat To Live is focused on helping us lose all that unhealthy body fat, by flushing our body with wonderful micronutrients that giving our body all the nutrition it needs, so that we also prevent disease.
Personally, reading Eat To Live had a significant impact on my own health journey. It opened up my eyes to the fallacies in modern nutrition and diets.
Eat To Live not only WORKS, but enhances mental clarity, energy and dampens toxic hunger.
All my friends and family who have tried the 6 week program have lost pounds and pounds! Go all in and you will see the weight drop effortlessly. Without feeling hungry and deprived. I recently returned to following it strictly, and lost 3kg in only 2 weeks!

This really works. I started this on August 4, 2020 and I’m down 40 pounds in a little over 3 months. The first 30 pound me came off in two months. I’ve been shocked at how fast I lost weight but I also feel so much better.. He’s right about not being hungry when you eat this way.
Love that! Thanks for sharing Sharla. Think it will be very motivating for others to read that too.
That's Awesome!! Congratulations!! 👏👏👏 What do you do about the portions and calorie counting??
@@nataliasoto0425 there is no portion control or calorie counting. Its not needed
But can you do exercise meanwhile?
Pppp
"Feeling better isn't getting better, feeling better is getting worse. Feeling worse is getting better". This man is a genius
This sounds like nonsense trying to sound deep.
@@iamme6581 He’s talking about food addiction and how toxic foods offer temporary relief. It’s a viscous cycle he calls toxic hunger 👍
@@iamme6581 - It does, if you lack context. Let's translate: Feeling high off of addictive foods might seem like you're feeling better, but obviously that temporary satisfaction has long-term negative effects. When you cut these addictions off, you'll start to feel worse bc the withdrawal symptoms are your body's immune response in action. Just like fevers, coughs, sneezes, and headaches feel terrible on the surface, they're actually signals from your body to allow rest & repair. So the reality of feeling "worse" is that you're feeling better, bc you're actually healing all the cellular damage you've caused from eating so poorly. Make sense now?
Like someone withdrawing from a drug addiction. They have to feel worse before they start feeling better. Many foods are an addiction.
I went vegan at 21 years old. Soon to be 24. My dad gave me Dr. Fuhrman's book about a year ago. Eat to Live is has given me the guidance and knowledge to live a long healthy life. I love this book. It's like my health bible!
Thanks for sharing your experience! The book definitely has such a powerful message that can help us over time. There are so many gems inside to revisit whenever we need!
Mine too!
what did you eat??!
I lost 50+ on his advice. I am working on the life habit to avoid the up and down. And lose the rest and maintain. We must be patient and allow time to establish the lifetime habits.
Wow, that's amazing! Thanks for sharing Damaris. I'm sure it will inspire many on this journey.
That is inspiring. I've been rushing this journey and it has back fired. Now I am learning to use time as my friend so that this too will become a life long habit for me as well. :)
Hi Damaris, can you share how you are doing and what types of meals you make? Thanks
what did you eat??!
30 pounds, 90 days, weekends I did anything I wanted.
Amazing!
@@sofiasurreal. I'm on the same program now. I'm almost 17 yet again.
what did you eat??!
@@gummybear41283 GBOMBS. Sorry for the late reply.
I was about to read the book again. Great great resume. Thank you. Joel Fuhrman couldn't have done better himself.
Glad you enjoyed it! Really appreciate your kind words 😊
Two weeks in and already feeling great. This video was so eye opening. I’m excited for this new life change. My goal is to lose 30lbs and maintain a healthy diet. If I can remember, I’m come back here in a couple months with an update.
How's it going?
what did you eat??!
Update??
Did it work?
I don’t know why, but your voice is really soothing. You have a nice voice 👍
Wow, thank you!
Thank you
I want to live as long as possible AND feel as well as possible. These tips are gold.
Thank you for putting this video together. Well done! I’ve been looking for a summary of dr Fuhrman but all his videos are so long. This is a great summary 👍🏼👍🏼.
Glad it was helpful! Working on one for his new book, so stay tuned for that :D
This was really an outstanding video. You boiled down the key points and then included very on-point video clips of Dr. Fuhrman's explaining the points. Very well done!
Wow, thank you! Happy to hear you found it helpful.
You don’t know how much this video has helped! From the bottom of my slightly chubby heart, thank you! 🙏🏼
Means so much to know that! Very happy it was helpful 😊
I'm also going to be sharing ETL food diaries soon - may be of interest too.
I have been following Dr. Fuhrman's advice since I read his first book years ago. But it's not easy getting all those fresh vegetables here in Kazakhstan. I love how you summarized all the important concepts and neatly packaged them in this awesome video. I really like your editing skills. Well done.
Really appreciate that Kevin, thank you!
That was my problem, I could not find organic veggies in my tiny town so I decided to grow an organic garden myself.. I just went and picked a head of romaine, some radishes with some onions, kale mizuna and tomatoes.. I have no more excuses, especially since I learned how to grow greens indoors for the winter. Good luck all.....
Dr Furman changed my life for the better.
You did such a beautiful job encapsulating the principles of Nutritarianism!
Dr Fuhrman is the man!
This was a wonderful summary because it was concise and easy to understand. As a nurse with a special interest in nutrition and also a nutrition student I can say he is correct. Good stuff! Cheers
Glad it was helpful! Really appreciate your kind words.
I’m at a healthy weight and love Dr Fuhrman. I’ve been eating way for a while now. If I could only convince my husband who is a physician to follow I would be so happy. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Really happy to hear this lifestyle is working for you.
Its perfect advice for Health, High energy, Longevity - keep you so alive 🎶🙏🎵
Been looking for a nice concise summary and short ... with pithy and brief explanation for many years.
Missed this one years ago, but stumbled on it one early morning. I am making a little cheat sheet from some screen shots I made.
This is very helpful - thank you.
Great video. I think Dr. Fuhrman has the right idea. It is hard to not include milk and cheese, though but avoiding meat, eating greens, fruits and nuts as well as mushrooms seems like a great way to lose weight and get healthy.
Awesome summary! Thank you! Love this dude!
Glad it resonated!
Thanks for this breaking this down.
He's funny; he's very charismatic, isn't he? I think it helps. 😁
Loved this video, makes so much sense, thankyou!🙂

Wow...simply awsome
Thanks a lot 😊
thank you for advice for true health 🥰🥰🥰
My pleasure!
Fantastic video. I’ve played around with these concepts for a couple of years or more but only now am I eliminating the oils and flour. It’s not that I ate lots but I was still consuming them. Weight was stable but not going down so here goes.
Same here! In Portugal, olive oil is king and recommended as a substitute for butter. I must change this... though it hard, as it is essential for vegetable soup, which I love ( and actually prefer to salads...)
@@Canarinhas well it is working. I’ve lost half a stone now.
i just cant imagine cooking or making salads without oil... thats just impossible?
Amazing!!
Glad you think so!
Well done ,subscribed
Thank you Thordur!
hard living w a husband meat eater & grils his meat and uses oils & salt who just isnt interested in this way of life. I have switched to plant based & he says my food is tasteless but it isnt. It is really good. Only 10 lbs down as I have not given up the bakery cookie but getting better. Havent eaten meat in 30 yrs. Gave up dairy 11/2020. All this inspiration is so helpful. Thank u.
Thanks for sharing your experience, this will help many. We can make it work - regardless of external environments - if we really want to. Congratulations on all your progress! 💫
@@sofiasurreal. so nice 4 u to reply . Gives me inspiration. Thank u
Keep going. Do it for you, in spite of your husbands diet.
30 years? WOW! But remember, some people do well/okay on meat as well. The same way Keto is not for everyone, this might not be for everyone as well.
@@waters129 meat produces a chemical called TMAO if I have it correctly this can lead to increased inflammation in the body causing pain , arthritis and other inflammatory diseases per medical studies. Some people do ok on meat but there are markers in the body that show they r not doing that well. Some studies from the New England journal of Medicine . Keto after awhile will raise cholesterol levels w all the oil that they use etc.
Thank you mam 🙏
This is such good information!!!🙏😊🔥
Glad you think so! 😊
Vegan Watching yes life changing and I’m getting back on this lifestyle today!
@@crystalriver7772 Awesome 🙌 I'm sure you'll see a lot of great benefits!! It's really apparent after 3 weeks.

I’m going to try this! I just received his book! I’m reading it now!! Later
I will update with a start date… which may be Wednesday October 27th 2021
Exciting! Let me know it goes :)
Update?
I have the book, gonna try it.
Awesome, feel free to share how you get on 😊
always remember - no one is 100% correct all the time. But this plan of Joel's - is not bad.
Great way to think!
Dr. Joel Fuhrman is God on Mother Earth. His diet is very much what ancient Indians used to eat in fact My Mother also prescribes the same. No thanks to all restaurants and junk yards. All these fast-food restaurants that feed us with white flour bread and a lot of oil are the perfect recipes for heart and health issues.
Thanks so much for creating a great video. Highly recommended for anyone and everyone.
Glad it resonated! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
He looks so youthful and handsome!
thank you
You're welcome Gloria! What sort of topics/research are you most interested right now?
I would like to know the best way of going about learning the how, what and why of nutrition. I Am certain that if I UNDERSTOOD the how what and why I could follow a great diet and influence others to do the same.
Ordered your book off Amazon quick delivery 🚚
im 17 and im trying to lose a few pounds so i ordered the book it will be here today
Just received the best book
Good luck on the program!
I did this 5 years ago. Lost 8kg (17,6lbs) in 2 months easily. I didn't even eat super strict (had more meat than the plan said, had olive oil regularly, had more avocado, etc.)
Exciting! chase your Dreams! see ya x3
Thank you Dr. Fuhrman for all your care and efforts. How much mushroom per day is the minimum daily requirement? Are soy and soy products safe for an estrogen positive breast cancer survivor?
A cup a day of mushrooms is recommended! Dr Fuhrman has recommended soy - even for breast cancer patients. "Overall, the research suggests that soy intake helps to protect against initial breast cancer development." Read more here: www.drfuhrman.com/blog/137/dont-fall-for-the-myths-about-soy
I am stuck here,.. should i proceed with my carnivore diet or NOT? 🤔
what can you use on a salads for dressing, no olive oil? any recommendations?
You may make dressings out of nuts, seeds, fruits. For instance, tahini, lemon juice and a little water is great. I also love massaging avocado into salads (such as steamed kale or spinach.) Then adding a splash of lemon juice. You can also use vinegars.
I lost weight on this and felt great! I stupidly went off and gained it back, I will not do that again
It really is so effective! And you can always re-start, fluctuations are common ☺️
Dear friend, I'm 68yo and I have a turkey 🦃 neck. Is it because I use olive oil? I'm a healthy nutritarian and am worried about my Psych Dr. who has me on 20mgs of Olanzapine 1x/day. I take no Illegal drugs or alcohol. Do I still have a chance of getting off meds with Drs approval? Blessings 💜.
What about all the multitudes of Keto and Carnivore eaters that their health is thriving like never before by eating high fat meats and dairy and low or no carb the rest of the diet that many used to be vegan???
Was the parts where his voice was muted, because of copyright issues?
It seems to not be muted for me... might work if volume is higher? The video hasn't been flagged 😊
I find that I am bloated. Is that to be expected at first on this lifestyle? Is this lifestyle proven to reverse any disease, not just cancer?
It can take a little time for your gut bacteria to adjust. Stick with it, and remember to chew very well!
I’m allergic to nuts and most seeds. Can I benefit from this program?
Of course! Nuts and seeds are included in limited amounts, but are not mandatory. If you can have a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds, that would be amazing for Omega-3s. Otherwise find another good source of Omega 3s.
Thanks, good tips. But one thing, He said eliminate "processed animal products", not all animal products. Reduce excess meat.
In his book(s,) he never recommends animal products, and emphasises removal is better. Still, he says some people can include them in much smaller quantities - if they must.
Before bed my blood sugar is 138,and in the morning the fasting blood sugar is 161,how can I manage this
Do Intermittent fasting .. Watch Dr Jason Fung utube videos for lowering your blood sugar
Check out Mastering Diabetes
You do the Joel fuhrman diet .
Are there any side effects from joining this program?
Not particularly. The only thing you may notice is toxic hunger triggers initially, as your taste buds adjust and your addictions seek to be fulfilled. Just stick to it and the rapid results will be more than encouraging to continue with the lifestyle!
Yes, the side effect is less doctor bills❤
You are absolutely right! I gave up pork 4 years ago.. no processed food or meat! Nothing in a box! You’re amazing
Steve, I get major sugar and caffeine withdrawal headaches the first few days and feel weak on and off for the first few weeks, but once I get past those I feel AMAZING. I have more energy than ever before in my life and have so much focus at work and on household projects. I also lose weight without even trying or being hungry. 👏🏼
To get through the challenging withdrawal headache days I take one caffeine pill in the morning and that gets me through the day. After the headaches are gone I no longer use caffeine and get on with this lifestyle beautifully. It’s so worth it. You will love the way you look and feel. 💯
Doctor what about how they grow fruits and vegetables they use fertilize it chemicals it's not organic
Definitely try to pick organic for the 'Dirty Dozen,' otherwise, it's overall most important to simply eat more plants - conventional too - over processed foods.
What about eggs and fish?
Not recommended, but some people do include in minor amounts.
So Avo oil? Macadamia oil? Evoo? Are these bad??
Fuhrman doesn't recommend any oil.
Interesting message -- but my problem is with self control. A lot of people who've fallen off dieting complain about having to eat "rabbit food". What's the solution to that?
As Dr Fuhrman says, it's about making sure you're not hungry - eating an abundance of healthy foods, so filling up on beans, greens etc. Often people under-eat vegetables. So first step, is making sure you don't do that. Next, make sure to prepare the food in a delicious, healthy way e.g. roasting red peppers and adding, making sauces/dressings with a little nuts. And then, finally, you must practice patience, and realise that it takes time for your tastebuds to adjust. It's important therefore to completely take out processed foods to give yourself the space to really appreciate the nuance and natural sweetness and taste of whole foods.
I think to start cut out one problem food for yourself every 2 weeks or a month. Sometimes people need to start slow, because they are heavily addicted to sugar and other food chemicals. I have a heavy sugar addiction, but I make sure I eat tons of veggies. I cut out dairy months ago by replacing my creamer with a combo of 1 can of coconutmilk and 1 container almond milk. Sometimes I water that down to cut down on fat intake. My next target is meat because I have less meat cravings. Another way is to figure why you are craving, what you are craving, and replace it with the healthier food. Slowly practicing self control. I'm keeping unsweetened tea in my fridge now, instead going to the store for sweet tea. (Multiple self control issues for myself there.)
@J K - I can easily stay off dairy - I have no craving for that. I do like sweet stuff, but in the past I've been able to use non-sugar substitutess. I do get strong cravings for potato chips - specifically the Salt & Vinegar potato chips. I've been trying to substitute peanuts & salsa for that.
@@manofsan Maybe pumpkin seeds, then you can add vinegar and garlic powder then toast them. Garlic powder is my salt substitute for most things because its naturally salty. Most of the Ms. dash no salt seasonings replace salt with garlic powder.
Can I ask a question please
Sure :)
You just did haha
I would love to try this but I take blood thinners, so I have to watch my Vitamin K intake (found in leafy greens)
As an underweight person . I want to eat right but I'm terrified of loosing even more weight
Include more healthy fats and carbs - e.g. avocados, nuts, seeds, sweet potatoes, squash, dried fruit etc. Blending all helps consume higher calories.
@@sofiasurreal. will do . thank you so mcuh ❤
@@exhater7820 Of course! Let me know how it goes!
I fucking love this dude
YES it works! safely....
A very big thanks #drosuma for all you do I mean who could have believed I would be Badbreath free ,I must admit your herbs are marvelous “””
Vege is boring though
Could really do without the background music.
Not a word on insulin? Or that it's mostly sugar, an addictive substance? Or that it's the body's hormones which control and drive hunger? Or about protecting your liver by not eating foods which cause spikes in insulin production and that protein-rich diets also cause insulin production? Beans are too rich in protein that they should be consumed in any large quantity. No mention of occasional fasting?
Too much missing info here. Watch a video from Dr. Fung or Dr. Jamnadas and get a better background in the biology and physiology of how and why the body produces fat, how and why the body reacts to this food and that food. Low carb saves lives. Dr Umwin's case studies prove it.
Ummm, part of your video has no volume... I got annoyed trying to read his lips.
Which part is that?
Can’t eat beans. I can eat one tablespoon of hummus or lentils. Food sensitivity. My DNA says I need more protein than the average person. 120grs. I use olive oil exclusively. And a tablespoon of walnuts, almonds, pistachios, or flax seeds in my yogurt.
Gluten intolerant, lactose intolerant and a slow carb metabolized. I have a mutation in my genes that makes me not metabolize all the vitamins- B especially.
I can eat fish and lean turkey or chicken. If I can’t eat fish, or poultry where can I get my B vitamins since I can’t stomach beans.
Thanks for sharing what works for you!
so basically...become vegan huh? no thanks.
Learn about keto and intermittent fasting, much better.
🤣
Yeah if you want kidney failure
Keto is a fad ! He just said to said to do something sustainable!
Did Keto and IF for a year. Not sustainable. Good for maybe 4 months, but a lifestyle? FORGET IT!
Honeslty, what do we know . We really can't know what is the right thing to do
